Stettler Storm defeated in semi-final play

The Stettler Storm played host for the U18 hockey provincials which ran at the Stettler Recreation Centre (SRC) from March 29-31.

Stettler hosted seven teams in the round-robin tournament which featured teams from Stettler, the 3C’s, Edson and La Crete.

In the round-robin, Stettler won its first game against La Crete with a score of 7-6.

Game two had the team come out with a draw when it faced off against the Calgary-based Northwest Warriors with each team scoring twice a side.

Game three had the Storm dominate in a March 30 game against Edmonton-based NW701, blanking the team with a 6-0 final score. The win secured the team a trip to the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals, the Stettler Storm faced off against the Edson Sabres, losing in a final of 6-2.

Edson carried on into the finals against La Crete, who ultimately won the U18 tier one provincial title by downing the Sabres with a final of 5-1.
